Avery.....11 months!

Every time I say that.....11 months.....

My nose curls up a little and my pulse gets a little faster.

Do you know what comes next???!!!

I keep thinking Avery is my little baaaaaaaaby, but really, she is turning into a little girl!

A cute one, but still.....

She is completely into table food now.  No more baby food!
Landon is usually not so happy to share, but every once in a while, you can catch him being nice.....

And this girl MOOOOVES!  She isn't walking on her own yet, but give her something to hold onto and watch out!

Such a Diva!

She thinks the snow is pretty fun.....I think she would rather play with the boots, hats, gloves INside, but she did alright!

She is always first in line to "help" her brother cause mischief.....
....apparently he was helping her with her hair!

I mentioned the table food thing......but did I tell you how MESSY that is??!!
Glad she is enjoying herself!

And good thing she likes the bath, because after coming out of dinner like this, we need one!

Unofficially, because I gathered the info at home and may have had some "help" from an assistant, here are the stats:

Height:  28 3/4 inches
Weight:  21 lbs.

She is still a fantastic sleeper, and recently we even put away the swing!  She has always slept all night in her crib, but naps weren't her favorite thing in there.  But, she is going strong and giving me 2-3 hour naps in her crib every day!  Happy Mom!

Still no more teeth, but she makes do with the 3 she has!  I think a top one is coming through though.....any day!

We are totally on cow's milk as well......she started to loose interest in nursing around 10 months, so I started introducing whole milk and she did great!!  Bye-bye bottles too!

Her new tricks recently include waving and sticking out her tongue.  I wonder where she got the tongue trick from???

Next month is the dooozy.......a whole YEAR!

Everyone stand by with Kleenex for me.......

Snow Much Fun!

We woke up to a nice surprise of fluffy snow.

So, when in Rome.....

We got all "bungled in" and out we went!

Avery had her first taste of the snow in her new snow suit and boots.

Landon tried getting her to run around, but no luck!

She liked the swing though!

And Landon got to take the snowmobile out for a spin with Daddy....

And with Mommy!

Avery figured out she could move a little in all the layers....

Then face planted......

The boys kept busy tearing through the neighborhood.

Hehehe....such a peanut!

Then they finally got to business and started shoveling and blowing out the driveway.

We supervised....

Somebody has to keep this guy in line!

Cake with a Face

Last week was Adam's birthday, so we wanted to make him a cake.

Landon was first in line to help.

And his suggestion was that the cake needed to be a monkey cake......

Sounds a lot like HIS birthday cake.

So after some compromise and discussion about it being Daddy's birthday, not his, we came to a solution.

Landon just had to make sure the cake had a face.

Whatever.....we worked it out and this is what we came up with:

Face or not, it was yummy!

We also decorated....Landon and Avery made some offerings:

And then the Birthday Fairy shared some love.....

Happy birthday Daddy!

Smart Cookie

We have been pretty taken back by what has come flying out of Landon's mouth recently.....not just the funny or cheeky things (remember Big Pimpin'??) but actual proof that his brain takes things in, processes it, and spits it back out!

For example.......
Adam was watching TV the other day and there was a show on that had a little kid calling 911 after his mom fell down.
We thought......I wonder if Landon knows about that??
Well he didn't!
So, in the car, I said "Landon, do you know who to call if there is an emergency?"
I got the "deer in headlights" look.
So I told him to call 911 on the phone when someone is hurt or there is an emergency.
Then he saw something and the conversation got sidetracked....hello A.D.D.!!!
So, just the other day I asked him who he should call in an emergency.
He said "91111".....much closer than last time!
I asked "what is an emergency"?
He said "When I eat nuts".....again, that would definitely be an emergency!
I asked what would happen when you call 911.
He said "Police car come, give you a ticket".
We were getting so close!

We should probably start referring to each other as "Mom" and "Dad" instead of "Adam" and "Diana" these days.
Especially since Landon now goes around the house calling for "A-dum".

Today was a typical Duluth day......wet.
And foggy.
According to Landon, it was a "soggy" day.
I would agree!

Gone are the days of jamming out to the radio too!
Landon has started listening, and repeating, songs he finds catchy.
"Crazy Crazy Song" is one of the songs by One Direction.
"Bye Bye" is the new Carrie Underwood song.
And because I am such a HUGE (not!) Taylor Swift fan.....he loves to catch the "We-EEEEE" song on the radio.
American Idol may be in his future....lol!

And my favorite.....
Any case of pop in the grocery store that is not Coke, Mt. Dew, or Sprite is automatically BEER.
I blame Adam for that one.......

The Art of Sharing

The logic of Landon can be astounding!

If HE has something and YOU take it, you are stealing.

But if YOU have something and HE takes it, he is sharing.

I guess he does hear me when I tell him to share with his sister........

I keep telling him it is a good thing he is cute!

Before I Forget.....

How many times have I said "I should write that in a baby book...."??

And then I never do.

Then how many times do I say "I will put that in a blog to share with grandparents...."??

And then I never do.

So.......let's share some randoms from the past couple weeks.

Here are the adorable outfits Adam picked out for the kids for Christmas:

And here is Landon putting his arm around his sister......

Being in northern Minnesota, we have snow......not tons, but enough.
So, we had some fun with it and made ice cream with the snow.

The "ice peem 'no" was a hit here!

Avery had a few bites too....notice the cover is missing from her chair??
Yeah, she likes to stick her fingers in the back of her mouth and gag herself.....often.

I do a lot of laundry......

But back to the ice cream....yum!

The latest in fun activities??
Unrolling and eating the toilet paper.

At least this time it wasn't a Kleenex from the trash can.......who needs another dog?!

The kids love to wrestle, and Landon loves to be tossed in the air.

Avery has gotten to get into the tradition as well.

She loves it!

And finally, I have to tell you, this kid loves to be in the bath!!

As soon as the water starts running, she is ready!

I wish I had a "record" button available for everyday life.....
Maybe then I would capture some of what Landon says!

A sample:

To go outside, we get "bungled" up.

We zip our jackets up, and then we zip them down.

"Mom, I want milk.....grow up big and "crong" like Daddy!"

More often than I would like, I hear "Mom, take my boogie.".....as he hands me a boogie.

As much as I love that Landon never says "no", he also never says "yes".  Instead, he says "I didn't", "I don't", "I don't want to", or "I do", etc.

His name is "Yandon" and he is "fee".

When he poops, anything other than one *ahem* "log", is considered "bad news poop".

Going to the store (any store)..."Not Kohl's.....I don't like Kohl's".

No matter what is going on in the kitchen......"Got my stool!  I wanna "hep" you!"

*There are soooo many more, if only I can remember them and write them down!*
