The Latest and Greatest...

I wish I could just constantly keep a running recording of Landon so I can remember everything that he says!

The kid seriously cracks me up!

Here is some of the latest "Landon-isms":

When he got up from his nap, Landon was picking his nose (common occurrence).
I told him not to pick his nose.
He holds his finger up and says "But he wants to go in there!"
I thought he was pointing at something, so I asked who he was talking about.
He said "My finger!"
I was laughing but I told him his finger would get in trouble for being in there.
So he put his finger on his upper lip, just under his nose, and said "He will just look in there then."

Lately we have been talking a lot about Avery's upcoming first birthday party, especially with all the company coming.
He must be looking forward to Bompa coming because a few days ago, when Auntie Lisa left, he shut the front door in her face and turned around.
I said "That was rude.  Why did you shut the door in her face?"
He said "Now Bompa can come!"

Every time he wakes up in the morning or from a nap, the first thing he says is "My friends are here now?"
I ask which friends he is wanting to see.
His answer:  Bompa and Nana and Granny Goose!

No matter what someone else has, in way of food or drink, Landon will want some.
His excuse?  "It will make me feel better."
Add in the puppy dog eyes and pouty face and he has a pretty good shot!

My favorite:  Tonight, Adam was watching Two and a Half Men.
Ashton Kutcher wasn't wearing a shirt when Landon looked up at the TV.
He spins around and shouts "He has boobies!!!"

I am tellin' ya!!  He is going to love this blog when he is 18!

Miss Independent...

We have progressed again....

....this time it is on to self-feeding.

At this point, if it is offered on a spoon, it is just not going in!

So......bottoms up!

And on top....

Yep, all the corners...

Mmmmmm, tasty!

Would you like some too Auntie Lisa???

Finger-lickin' good!

Oooops, missed some over here.....

Maybe it will go in faster this way.....

Oh I am so silly!!

Although it is fun to watch her feed herself, it sure is messy!!!

All clean!

Maybe I need to revise my menus to only include plain noodles and peas.....

It is a Big Day!

It was a big day in the Miller house.....

First, we put on our shoes for the first time (that wasn't just because they were too cute or because we had pictures....)

We put on our shoes to go for a ride......

......in our new Big Girl car seat!!

Not sure Landon is on board to share "his" space, though!

Colors

Purple is my favorite color.

I love it on just about anything.

My least favorite color???

Gray.

Why??

It has decided to make appearances on the top of my head recently.

I. Am. Not. Even. Thirty.

At least I am not the only one with wild hair going on these days though......
Girl knows how to rock a Mohawk!

Almost Could've Been Should've Been Fun

We had a great adventure planned.

The boys were outfitted in the warmest stuff and helmets.

The snowmobile was ready to go!
We even had the caboose loaded up with sleeping bags so Avery and I could go on a cozy trip with the snowmobile too.

But, alas, all things seem to have a defect.
This time, it was the cabin's furnace......the fuel had gelled up.
That translates into "No Heat".
Which further translates into "Mom Does Not Do No Heat".
And, practically, Avery does not need to be hanging out in the cold.
So, we made revisions.......
Avery and I had a picnic in the car while the boys went running for a little bit.

Even though Adam was really bummed that it wasn't the trip we planned, I think Bailey was the most bummed of all......

Something's Fishy

Adventure of the month:
The Aqu-emen-en!

And for those of you who do not speak the native tongue of Landon, it translates to
"aquarium".

Makes sense now, doesn't it??

Anyway, we decided a day trip down to the Big City was in order.
And we figured if we left town on Adam's day off, even if work called, he was too far away to get anywhere quickly!

So, we decided the Mall of America would clearly provide plenty of entertainment and we could go see the fish.

We decided Avery could go for her first outing outside of the almost-too-small-but-mom-still-wants-her-to-be-a-baby-car seat.  She had a blast!

I don't think Landon really wanted the company, but he was alright!

First stop on Operation Day Out......lunch!

Then with full tummies, off we went to check out the "fishes".

Landon wasn't so sure about touching the starfish.....not even with Daddy's help!

Avery was ready to dive in a bathe with them!

As long as there was glass between him and the sea life, this kid was enamored!

And this one enjoyed it too!

This fella ended up being Landon's favorite shark....he followed him through the whole shark tunnel.

Good background for some photo-ops!

So with souvenirs from the gift shop we hit up the amusement park of the Mall and let Landon get on some rides.

Avery was too small for the rides, so she got to keep the stroller seats warm.

He remembered his trip out here with Amy and made a beeline straight for the racecars.  Daddy was too tall to fit in this one, so I "volunteered".

Daddy got his turn too though!

So maybe MY favorite part of the day was stumbling across this little Crepe Shop in the mall.......I hadn't had a fresh yummy crepe since going to Paris!  Too bad I ate mine immediately.....I would have taken a picture of the delicious Nutella-ness.
Landon enjoyed his powdered sugar one....I love the "Why are you taking a picture of my food" face!

Avery thought her toes tasted better....

......then snoozed for a while.

Back at home the next day......regular life resumed as normal.

Who needs days spent with sharks and sea turtles and jellyfish (oh my!) when you have a cabinet full of Tupperware just waiting to be spilled out and re-organized?!
