Avery....4 months!

Here we are at 4 months!

Although I would normally say Avery is a sweet, happy baby, today is just not so!

Those 4 month shots are a doozy it seems!

Other than the less-than-ideal reaction to the shots, the rest of her little personality and accomplishments are fantastic!

The official stats are as follows:

Height: 24 inches (16th percentile)
Weight:  14 lbs. 8 oz. (56th percentile)

Yup, we are still on the "short and fat" scale!

She has had a fun month of accomplishments and events too!

She has started to enjoy sitting up in the Bumbo seat to see what is going on (at least for short bits!)

She has found her hands!  And really likes to get a hold of that thumb!

She's not so much a fan of tummy time, but she is doing great holding her head up!

She can just about roll over....and Landon will be the first to lead by example!

Adam's family came into town for a visit, so Avery got to meet some cousins.

She can be such a ham!!  She will just smile and laugh all the time!

And she is becomming quite the pro-wrestler!  Not that she has a choice with Landon around!

With the nice weather, we have been going outside.  Avery get to sport some super cool fashion!

Just a couple days ago, we brought out the Saucer!  She has really enjoyed it! Landon has had a hard time realizing that it isn't his toy anymore, but he is more than willing to show her how to play with it!

She is mighty cute, if I do say so myself!

Stay tuned for the next edition....5 months!  :)

Sweet Treats!

One way to beat the heat??

Popcicles and snow cones!

We have both covered!

Popcicles in the freezer....

....And an ice cream truck that comes to our neighborhood!
But not just any ice cream truck....this one has an entire DIY snow cone bar on the outside!
Sweet!!!

Rainy Day.....Again!

So I am sure many of you have heard by now that Duluth was almost washed away in a huge flood this week.

If you seem to be under a rock, and have missed that news, here are a couple pictures:
In other words, things are pretty wet!

Luckily, our house is dry, however our yard is not.

This makes it very difficult to have a little boy who constantly wants to go "out-tide".

We have been out as much as we can to go for walks and to play, but the rain keeps coming every other day!!!

So we turned to the wise Paula Deen for entertainment!

I found this book at Wal Mart for $2.97 a couple days ago and thought it seemed fun.
Off we went to the grocery store for a few items and then we got crackin'!

First up, blueberry muffins....yummy!

Of course, my sous chef was willing and ready!

Somehow, our hands became stained purple....wonder how that happened??

He was soooo ready for a "muff-eem"!

Happy camper!

Next on the agenda was chili, since it was cold and wet outside.
We got this recipe from Cousin Sabrina, and lemme-tell-ya.....it is fantastic!!!

But since Adam is an odd person, he doesn't like chili, unless it is beanless, but what is chili without beans??!!

So we were thoughtful and turned back to Paula Deen for Sausage and Cheese muffins.

That Paula Deen makes some pretty yummy stuff, I tell ya!

So, with a tummy full of muffins and the sound of rain outside, Landon slept like a rock, giving Avery and I some time to catch up on the laundry.

Yup, Mom, the sheets are nice and dry and warm!

Luckily, the sun popped out for a bit later in the evening, so we took our opportunity and headed "out-tide"!

With all the rain and flooding we have had, I can't help but wonder if Noah ever said "God, can my ark have a bit more square footage so I can hide from the kids?"

The past 4 days may as well have been 40 after being locked in with small kids!

But just when we are about to lose it from cabin fever, we got a lovely rainbow to show the rain was over (for now!)

You can't have a rainbow without the rain.

Cuteness

Clearly Landon is a busy boy!

And that busy-ness can steal the show from a *usually* quite little girl.

So, here is an ode to Avery and her cute little face!

Hehehe...such a ham!

Good thing she allows more than one chin per photo....we wouldn't have any of her otherwise!

I just love her face!

Don't you just want to squeeze those cheeks??!

Doesn't she have the cutest clothes too??!!
I can thank the Grandmas and Cousin Sabrina for ALL of that!!

Trying to roll over!!  It will be any day now!  :)

Such a butterball!!

I cannot believe how fast she is growing up and how much of a personality she is getting!
One of these days soon she will be keeping up with Landon and all of the busy "adventures" he gets into....
.....and creating some busy "adventures" of her own!

Redneck Pool Party

I am beginning to think we live up to this "Redneck" name a bit too well!

Adam's cousins are in town for a bit this week, so we all got together to hang out and let the kiddos play.

It was a little hot, so out came a tub and some water....
...and off went the clothes!

I am always amazed at how much fun the simplest things can be to a kid....like a plain old juice bottle!

Landon and Olivia were a hoot!!!

Isabelle was the most classy....she left her clothes on!  :)

Then Mandy added bubbles!!!

Sooooo exciting!!!

Leave it to the boys.....when outside, it provides a perfect opportunity to teach your son how to pee outdoors.

Before you knew it, the pool party had turned into a skinny dipping party!

And somehow skinny dipping turned into worm hunting.....
What?  You don't worm hunt in the nude??? :)

Success!!

One last dip to rinse off all the dirt....they look pretty content to me!

Yup, I would say the Redneck Pool Party was a success for everyone!
