Caroline......7 months!

At some point I suppose I should stop being so surprised that this little thing is growing up so fast!

But, I still am.  Maybe it is because she seems to be moving faster than the others and is acting well beyond 7 months.

Anyway, here is what is happening these days:

This kid likes to EAT!!
She likes to sip a cup a bit.

And if food is good, messy food is REALLY good!

She has officially crossed over from preferring a liquid diet to a chewable diet.  She still gets milk, of course, but she would much rather chew on something solid.....Ritz especially!

The new trick this month is standing!  She will pull up and stand on ANYTHING!

Of course, Mickey grabs her attention!

All that physical activity means she is that much more in the action with the big kids.  Watch out....paybacks are coming!

Much to her daddy's enjoyment, she is still a good cuddle buddy!

While Landon went on a trip with the grandparents this week, us girls took a trip to the aquarium.
I am pretty sure she had no idea what was really going on, but I think she had fun nonetheless.

I still stand by my one-word description of her: happy.
She is always laughing and playing and just so happy!
Unless it is midnight or so a couple times a week....then she will wail like none other just to cuddle......

Other than those little wake ups, she is a great sleeper and fantastic eater.
She eats a little of everything we do as well as the baby food I make for her.
According to my bathroom scale, she is up to 17.5 pounds!  Must not have missed too many meals.....

Tomorrow we get to go visit with Great Granny Goose for her 89th birthday!
I cannot wait to see all the little old ladies want to pinch those chubby cheeks!

Caroline.....6 months!!

Half a year!!!

Oh my goodness, it cannot have been that long already!!

If this little (ish) butterball wasn't so stinkin' cute and have such a personality, I would be so upset at her growing up.

So, let's see what we are up to as a big "Half Year-er".

She has officially mastered the art of sitting up.
Pretty slumpy at first, but she has gotten all the way up to sitting straight!

We pulled out the highchair last month and then started introducing food, so she has gotten really used to hanging out in the highchair.

Food is fun....and messy!

And clearly, the highchair has gotten comfy enough to double as a napping location.....

We have tried puffs too!!  This kid likes to eat!

Since Landon has been in school and then some evening activities too, it has given Avery and Caroline time to hang out and do things together.  Those two are so cute when they want to be.

Her personality is taking off and she is starting to get quite a list of interests....

Flying:

Sleeping....anywhere:

Crawling.....backwards!

Bath time sitting up and playing in the faucet:

Tupperware:

Reading.....while teething

Did I mention Tupperware??  And teething?......

She had her first Halloween too!  Such a cute little Ladybug!

Already learning how to hoard the candy and dig in!

Officially, she is growing just fine and dandy!
She is 25 3/4 inches and 16 lb. 10 oz.
Even after over 2 months, she is still teething, although there are no teeth.....
She can crawl backwards and get from all fours to sitting and then back on the move.
She is starting to pull up on things (yikes!!!)
She sleeps all 12 hours of the night and 2-3 hours at nap time.
So far, she has not turned down any food!!  She has had peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, and squash.
We are getting so close to hearing a definite "Mama"!!  I swear I have heard "I love you Mom"......
And Oh how this kid giggles!!!  She is happy ALL the time!

Happy Half Year Caroline!

A Wedding and a Honeymoon(ish)

So, this past weekend was The Weekend!

My bestie got hitched!!  It still takes some getting used to in order to call her a "Mrs.", but then again, I still think it's weird that I am a "Mrs.".  Anyway, it was absolutely lovely!!

The wedding was out in Asheville, North Carolina.....so gorgeous in the fall!!  Adam and I, Caroline, and my mom flew out for a long weekend.

Caroline went on her first plane trip and did an awesome job!

Then we drove from Charlotte to Asheville.  Baby slept, mom talked, we goofed....

Adam kept screaming "I see the mountains!!!  Take a picture, take a picture!!!"
So, I took some pictures....

Amy, the bride, had all of us in the wedding party stay at these cabins out in the woods.  Again, not quite sure what to expect until we got there.....breathtaking!!  Check out our cabin!!  Notice the hot tub???  AND.....we had a pac-n-play in the cabin for Caroline, but it fit better in my mom's room, so she offered to take the baby in her room with her!!!  Now do you see where I got the "honeymoon" part from?.....

This little dock area screamed "photo location"...

We spent one day just perusing around downtown Asheville.  Lazy day, relaxing, wonderful!

We hit up this old-time ice cream soda fountain place and this beauty called my name!  No worries.....I did not waste a drop!

I even shared a bite....

Mom was happy.....

That evening we left Caroline with the babysitter (aka Mom) and headed to the rehearsal dinner.  Date night!!!

The festivities included karaoke.  It only seemed fitting we give our best shot at our own rendition of "Mmmbop".  I may regret sharing this later......

So, after toasting away Amy's last night of single lady-hood, we tucked her into bed and got ready for the Big Day!

So, lemme tell ya....it is super fun to put 8 gals together and get all gussied up!  We had the whole glam squad working away at us for HOURS!!!

The bride.....

For some time, I had TWO stylists figuring out my hair.....must have been a challenge!

Rocking the curly 'do....

And here we are....all purtied up for the wedding!

Seriously, gorgeous bride!!

I thought I cleaned up pretty well too.....I mean, it took 3 people and several hours for this!  Oi!

Adam and Caroline got all snazzy too....

Here we go.....

I don't think the venue or the weather could have been any more perfect for this!  It was beautiful!!!

The wedding was great and the reception was amazing!!

Want to know something really cool?? Amy is really good at keeping in touch with people and keeping friendships going, so there were several people at the wedding from middle school!!  I am talking over 15 years ago!  It was so awesome to see friends from the past and get to reconnect!
Here is the Summit Middle School crew:

The Mr. and Mrs.!!!

I think we have decided to add Asheville to the "When we get an RV and can travel more" list.  Although, another "honeymoon" type trip would be even better......

Many congrats to Amy and Geoff!Z
