Avery......5 months!

Alright....time for the 5 month update on Miss Avery.....

She certainly is a mover and a shaker!!

This sweet girl is a rather talk-a-tive one too!
No idea where that comes from (ha!) but she knows how to make herself heard!

Earlier in the month she started rolling over....
....and it hasn't stopped since!

She can go from back to tummy and tummy to back.
She mainly goes towards her left, but can get over on the right side too.

She started cereal too and really likes it!

Just recently, though, we added squash (that I made!) to the mix.....

Really not a fan at first!

I mean, REALLY not a fan!
It came back at me at first!

Then I mixed it with some rice cereal and she did much better with it....
.....Peas are next! :)

We found out that she is a water baby too!

I am glad she likes being in the water because this bathing suit is waaaay too cute to only be seen indoors! :)

I almost forgot the stats this month too!!

Height:  25 inches
Weight:  16 pounds
**According to my measurements at home, that is.**
They are likely a little different at the doctor's office!

Stay tuned for the 6 month update!
We are getting pictures done with Sarah, so I am SUPER excited to show those off next month!

Steppin' on Up!

I should know by now what I am getting into when I enlist the help of Monkey Butt Construction for a job...

Don't get me wrong, the work is always fantastic and you can't beat the price!

But the final outcome is never quite what I had in mind at the time.....

For example, this time around, I asked Adam for a small concrete step on the outside of the man-door in the garage.

I was thinking a 2' x 3' rectangle step......

......then Bruce came over.

He is the "Site Manager" of Monkey Butt Construction and he had different plans.

When the boys asked me to come and check for positioning, this is what greeted me:
Definitely not the small rectangle I had in mind!

I mean this plan required a concrete mixer and an extra trip to Menard's for cement!
I think they just wanted an excuse to use the mixer......

It started to take shape in no time!

Of course, no Monkey Butt job would be complete without the help of "Apprentice" Landon!

Just a few final touches.....

And a stamp of approval.....

And voila!  A beautiful entry into our garage!

And to think.....one day my list will include "expand the deck".
Wonder what Monkey Butt Construcion will have in mind for that....... :)

She's a water baby!

You know how you always worry that your kids will have uncontrollable fears of things that will make life miserable for them?

We can cross water off the list for Avery!

She got her official first taste of non-bathtub water at the lake this week!

All suited up and ready to go!

Doing OK with the sand...

....and enjoying the water!

Having fun!

Hanging out with Daddy...

.....Funny thing, I remember another little person enjoying much of the same!

I guess we are stuck with them.....

Can you really look at these faces and think that they are anything but perfect little angels?

I can!!!

But I suppose we are stuck with them now!

Adam and I got a little artistic and decided we may as well make them keepers....

We had both tattooed Landon's name on when he was 2 months old....

......but we figured Avery needed some real estate on our bodies too!

Landon wanted some ink just like Daddy.....

We may still take a good offer, depending on the day, but for now, I suppose they belong to us!  :)

We are a little attached!

Making Milestones!

Avery has been ticking off those milestone moments like none other recently!

First on the list....

.....cereal!
Thinking over that first bite...

She must have thought it was worth another shot!

Hmmmmm, maybe this can work out!

Yeah, we can do this!

Next for the milestones....

.....rolling over!!
Ready to go!

Roll to the half way point....

Throw over the hips....

Just gotta get that shoulder out!!

Success!!

Now if only she would start to enjoy being on her tummy!

She really likes to sit up, but hasn't quite gotten the hang of doing it on her own.

Guess we will have to settle for sitting with a little help for now!

Welcome to Facebook Bompa!

Bruce (Bompa, to Landon) is on Facebook!

As much as he would say he didn't want an account, and how he didn't "need" to have something else to keep track of, he finally gave in.

More like Grandma said she was going to stop sharing her account so he could check in on what the kiddos were up to!

So, here is to you Bompa!

The first blog that you can check from your VERY OWN account!

A montage for you of some of our favorite photos and memories....

This is the "happy dance"....lol
"Well I'm not the electrical engineer...."
According to Lynn....they have the same chin!
Official members of Monkey Butt Construction
He always has been Bompa's buddy!
Clearly, this is where Adam learned his fantastic dance moves!
Shared anniversary dinner in New Orleans.....before kids!
Bruce has always gotten along quite well with the 4-legged family members!
Taking care of Granny Goose
Two men and a grill (or two or three....)
Didn't I tell you Landon was Bompa's buddy?? :)
And it looks like Avery will follow suit!
Hehehe...
He is the best napping buddy....
.....And TV buddy!
Most recently, building Landon's room....
......but it doesn't seem like that long ago, we were welcoming Landon to the world!
We were all good vacation mates before kiddos came along!
Such a fun trip to PCB!
LOL....I love this one!!  Bruce got stuck and needed help getting up!
Landon has always loved Bompa's "perch"!
The boys had Landon learning the garage ropes early on!

Welcome to Facebook Bruce!  :)  Now you can be kept in the loop by your own accord!
