Rainy Day.....Again!

So I am sure many of you have heard by now that Duluth was almost washed away in a huge flood this week.

If you seem to be under a rock, and have missed that news, here are a couple pictures:
In other words, things are pretty wet!

Luckily, our house is dry, however our yard is not.

This makes it very difficult to have a little boy who constantly wants to go "out-tide".

We have been out as much as we can to go for walks and to play, but the rain keeps coming every other day!!!

So we turned to the wise Paula Deen for entertainment!

I found this book at Wal Mart for $2.97 a couple days ago and thought it seemed fun.
Off we went to the grocery store for a few items and then we got crackin'!

First up, blueberry muffins....yummy!

Of course, my sous chef was willing and ready!

Somehow, our hands became stained purple....wonder how that happened??

He was soooo ready for a "muff-eem"!

Happy camper!

Next on the agenda was chili, since it was cold and wet outside.
We got this recipe from Cousin Sabrina, and lemme-tell-ya.....it is fantastic!!!

But since Adam is an odd person, he doesn't like chili, unless it is beanless, but what is chili without beans??!!

So we were thoughtful and turned back to Paula Deen for Sausage and Cheese muffins.

That Paula Deen makes some pretty yummy stuff, I tell ya!

So, with a tummy full of muffins and the sound of rain outside, Landon slept like a rock, giving Avery and I some time to catch up on the laundry.

Yup, Mom, the sheets are nice and dry and warm!

Luckily, the sun popped out for a bit later in the evening, so we took our opportunity and headed "out-tide"!

With all the rain and flooding we have had, I can't help but wonder if Noah ever said "God, can my ark have a bit more square footage so I can hide from the kids?"

The past 4 days may as well have been 40 after being locked in with small kids!

But just when we are about to lose it from cabin fever, we got a lovely rainbow to show the rain was over (for now!)

You can't have a rainbow without the rain.
