Well we finally got around to doing it!!!
The kids were dedicated at church last week!!
It has been discussed around the kitchen table since I was pregnant with Landon, but we never made plans, then we moved, then we weren't settled in a church, etc, etc, etc.
So, the opportunity came up, and we made it happen!
Since we are Baptists, we don't christen or baptize babies. We dedicate them as a promise to raise them in church and to dedicate their lives to God. The parents promise to uphold our end, and the congregation promises to uphold their end, which is to keep us accountable. It really is quite nice.
So, here are a few pics from the event....
There were other families dedicating kids that day, so we were one of three.
Ever Mr. Obvious, full of questions, I spent a majority of the time saying "Shhhhhhh!"
Adam had a few turns shushing too....I had my hands full with Avery trying to squirm to freedom!
Avery even tried smacking him into cooperation....
And as soon as we go to pray, Landon decides it is the perfect time to try to make a getaway.....sneaky booger!
Avery just ate my watch.....jewelry/toy, same thing!
Isn't this just the way life goes?? When one is behaving, the other is being ornery??
Nearing the home stretch!! Landon is still on stage, and Avery hasn't brought the roof down with a screech......yet!
They each got a certificate to commemorate the occasion, and we are good to go!
Now you can call the kids whatever you want, but you can't call them heathens!!
You should have told me! I would have made a quick trip for this!!
