Eviction Notice

This little lady in my tummy has an official notice of eviction!!

I have to tell you......with my history, I NEVER expected to have a date for induction set!

I mean, at this point (38 weeks, 1 day) I am at least 10 days overdue in my book!

But today the official notice was placed.... May 7th, she gets the boot!

I am eligible for induction on the 5th, but the doctors have surgeries, etc. and the 6th has a doctor on call that I really do not care for.  So the 7th it is!

Unless she comes on her own before then......

It may look like she fits in there like a neat little package, but this mamma is getting pretty uncomfortable!

Plus, I am STILL having contractions, some small, some HUGE, that are awfully defeating when they cause no change.....

As of today, she is measuring in at 7 pounds, 2 ounces......that sounds like cooked to me!

Day 32

Rain, rain, go away......don't come back another day!

Unless the other day is after the house is all done.....

At least at this point, all the framing is done and the house is sealed on the top.

Looks lovely, doesn't it?!

All of the windows and doors are in as well, except for one window that is back ordered.
I love having a front door!
Garage doors are coming this week, as well as an official roof.
Mechanical starts this week, and the cabinetry is already scheduled for May 22.  That means that by May 22, we will have full walls and everything!!

The last thing they framed in on the inside was the fireplace.  I LOVE it!!  Believe it or not, we have never had a fireplace before.....

I am tellin' ya.....all I need is a potty and I could start camping out!

Days 26 and 27....Raising the Roof!

Wooo Hooo we are raising the roof!!  Literally!!

The house has started taking shape up top, which really gets it looking good!

We love watching them work and seeing progress made.  Of course the sunny 80* days don't hurt either!

With the roof going up, that means they are also working on the upper level.  Here is the open space that will eventually be a rec room, extra bedroom, and bathroom:

I know it is hard to see with all the studs and sticks everywhere, but here are some shots of the main level that is now completely framed in.

This is the main area of the kitchen, including my walk in pantry:

This, folks, is the "sexy" shower.....2 shower heads, seats, and tile/glass features. Love!

A girl's dream....at least mine.....a HUGE laundry room!  I will have counter space on both sides, a laundry tub, and laundry organizer/sorter.

The kids' rooms downstairs got finished up with framing too, so now they can both see where their walls are and closets.

Today the upper level really started taking shape!

Here is the landing at the top of the stairs, looking at the entrance to the bedroom.  The closet and bathroom will be to the right, with access to the bathroom from the hall as well.

We had to take a long weekend hiatus for Easter and some weather, but the builder has been true to his word....total framing of the house takes only about 4-5 solid days.  Even though more rain is expected tomorrow, framing will be all finished Monday and the roof work begins Tuesday.  By the end of next week, the house will be completely sealed from the outside and work can begin inside (electrical, etc).  Can't wait!!

{Catchy Easter themed title here}

If I were more creative, I would come up with some "egg-cellent" title, but today the energy meter is running on low.

Maybe it is because I am still pregnant.....

Anyway, even though I was hoping to have had the baby before Easter, I am glad she didn't come during Easter.  It gave me time to enjoy the festivities and beautiful weather we had for the weekend.

It all started with an Easter egg hunt in the neighborhood.....

As soon as Avery saw this lovely lady, she forgot all about eggs!

They managed to get a few....

Then later in the day we decided to do shaving cream egg dying.  Last year, they spent hours coloring away!  This year.......well, attention spans aren't very long.

It started off well.....

Then things got a but out of hand....

He sure did love to be a smurf of sorts....

....but did not like having to be hosed off before coming in.

Sunday we put on all our purty outfits and got ready for church.  I had one willing to smile and "cheeeeeese!!!" for nothing....

And another that needed some bribery to stand and take a picture.  At least we aren't crying in the holiday pictures this time!

I even got a sweet moment from him!

After church we stopped by Nana and Bompa's for a quick egg hunt in their yard.

Mmmmmm, those eggs had candy inside!

Back home they were surprised with treats from the Easter bunny....

After Easter dinner and some more running out in the sun, the sugar high provided a nice hard crash and bedtime came easy.  I think today I need to dig into the candy stash in order to keep functioning for the rest of the day.....

"Hoppy" Easter!

Labor of Love

"Good things come to those who wait"

"All in due time"

"Nothing good comes easy"

"Patience is a virtue"

You have heard all the phrases and "words of wisdom" regarding time and patience (which I have none of, by the way)......

I am certain that all of the above apply to me today.

I am positive that this baby and delivery are not going to come easy, quickly, or without my unwavering patience.....oi!

In case anyone is wondering, there is no baby yet, at least not on the outside!  She is still very comfortable inside and seems to like to call "wolf" every now and again.

Yesterday, contractions began and off to the hospital I went.  I got hooked up, things progressed (slowly, but progress was made), and then it slowed down.  The doctor said it may take a while, so would you be more comfortable at home?? Sure.....but please do not let me miss my window to come in and get undressed before baby comes (hello, Avery!).

So home I went. A few hours and bigger, more intense contractions later, I went back to the hospital.  They hooked me up, progress had been made, contractions continued, and then they slowed.  Again.

According to the magic books doctors use, I am still considered pre-term, even though Avery was here at this point and Landon was only 48 hours away.

The magic diagnosis...while I am home and active, I am making labor happen.  When I go to the hospital and sit still, things slow.  And they can't let me walk around or do anything to "encourage" pre-term labor.

So, I am home......contracting and uncomfortable, but I have options:
1.  Water breaks, as with Landon
2.  Contractions are so intense and I am complete, leading to the 45 minute drop, as with Avery
3.  I sit still for about 5 or 6 days to be considered "term" and go back in

We are going with option 4.....go about regular activity and see what happens.

At this point, I figure I am promised to have nothing normal about any of my births, so why not throw a few zingers in this one too??

At least I can take the kids to the Easter egg hunt today!  And maybe see them all cute for Easter tomorrow.

But Miss Caroline, I am ready!!!  No more teasing, make up your mind!

Day 21

Oh my goodness, today is a good day in house building!!

I will just let the pictures do the talking.....

We came in the morning to scope things out.  Here is what we found:

There will be a wall where Adam is, which will be the gym and storage room.

Landon's room:

Avery's room:

Stairs leading down to rec room and kid's area with Adam's workshop/garage behind the stairs:

Back side of the house:

Front side of the house:

Second floor, windows are for Caroline's room (left), breakfast area (center), and Master bedroom (right).  The patio and covered deck will be in the center of both levels:

Then Adam came back to the house this evening......progress had continued!!

I may have to go get some interior pictures of the second level tomorrow....I am dying to see what the laundry room, mud room, and kitchen are shaping up to look like!!
